Admissions into School
Church Attendance
We welcome children of all faiths or no faith at all. If you do go to church, this can place families higher up on the ranking list as per the criteria within our admissions policy. In case we have more than 30 applications which is our published admissions number, we would recommend that you complete the supplementary church form and return this directly to school when you apply. We will then forward the form to your vicar for confirmation.

Our Admissions Policy (above) provides detailed information about applying for a place in our school and our admissions criteria. Included in the policy is the supplementary form for church attendance.
Reception places are applied for directy with Lancashire County Council (see link below) Please return the church supplementary form directly to school so that we can forward to your church.
In-Year Admissions
An in-year admission is the process of applying for a school place during the school year. Any application submitted after the start of the Autumn Term for the normal intake year group will be treated as an in-year application.
The in-year admissions process is managed directly by the school.
In-Year Admission Process
Initial Enquiry
Parents/carers should contact the School Office in the first instance. Office staff will gather basic information about the child and the reason for the request for an in-year admission.
Availability of Places
The Headteacher will be informed, and class numbers will be reviewed to determine whether there is a place available in the required year group(s). The maximum class size is 30 pupils.
Application Form
If there is a place available in the requested year group(s), parents/carers will be asked to complete an In-Year Admission Application Form. This is available below or a paper copy can be obtained from the School Office.
School Visit
Parents/carers and their child(ren) will be invited to visit the school.
Offer of a Place
Following the school visit and receipt of the completed application form, a place will be formally offered if one is available within 5 school days.
Contact with Previous School
The child's current school will be contacted to discuss the proposed move and to obtain any relevant educational, safeguarding, attendance or welfare information.
For local moves: The start date will normally be at the beginning of the next half term.
For families moving into the area: The start date may be immediate if the child is currently out of education, or once the family has taken up residence in the local area.

Timetable for Appeals -
Should families wish to appeal, this must be submitted in writing within 20 days from the date you were notified that your application was unsuccessful. Please include any evidence you wish the appeal panel to take into account.
Families will be provided with at least 10 school days' notice of the appeal hearing.
Decision of the appeal will be sent within 5 school days of the hearing wherever possible.
An appeals officer will be in touch with you before the hearing date and will provide full details.
